HMESA's purpose is to set standards in the HME industry for the smooth transfer of information between manufacturers and homecare providers. Currently HMESA is working on product naming conventions, product hierarchy and units of measure. This schema will allow manufacturers to send changes regarding product item data in an electronic format that can be easily understood by all stakeholders. The benefits will be an increase in productivity and reduction in costs throughout the supply chain.
Membership in HMESA is open to all HME manufacturers, providers and other vendors who are active in the HME supply chain. Companies who have already joined HMESA include: AirSep, Apria, bConnnected Software, Inc., Brightree, Computers Unlimited, 50 Below, Fisher & Paykel, InnovatEC, Invacare Corporation, National Seating & Mobility, Pride Mobility, QS/1 Data Systems, Resmed, Respironics, Rotech, Taxonomy Inc., The MED Group, The Scooter Store and VGM.
